UBITECH: powering data harmonisation in the SEARCH Project

UBITECH was founded in Athens, Greece in 2005 and has since established itself as a leading force in the European technology landscape, securing numerous European Commission and national grants for groundbreaking R&D initiatives. UBITECH is driving digital transformation on a global scale. Their mission, alongside advancing state-of-the-art research in information and communication technologies, is to deliver tailor-made software solutions, provide strategic technology consulting, and enable both private and public sector organizations to thrive in an increasingly digital world. Today, UBITECH brings together a diverse team of experts—researchers, engineers, consultants, and innovators—dedicated to shaping the future of technology.

As an innovative player in the high-tech research domain, UBITECH is delighted to contribute to the SEARCH project, funded by the Innovative Health Initiative. The project focuses on pioneering new approaches to synthetic data generation for healthcare, addressing the pressing need for secure and reliable data.

UBITECH’s role in SEARCH

UBITECH plays a central role in the Data Harmonization Module of the SEARCH platform, a key component that ensures healthcare data from diverse sources can be transformed into consistent and comparable form. By standardizing data across different types—such as images, signals, text, and clinical records—UBITECH helps create a reliable foundation for synthetic data generation.

Operating within SEARCH’s federated architecture, UBITECH contributes to the seamless coordination between local data environments and centralized cloud services. This approach guarantees that harmonization is carried out efficiently, securely, and in full compliance with privacy requirements.

Through its expertise, UBITECH enables the platform to deliver high-quality, trustworthy synthetic datasets that empower medical research and innovation across Europe—while safeguarding sensitive patient information every step of the way.

In addition to leading the efforts in developing the Data Harmonization Module, UBITECH is actively engaged in defining the technical requirements, as well as designing and evaluating the technical architecture of the SEARCH Federated platform. UBITECH is also involved to the Federated Machine Learning Module supporting the implementation. Furthermore, UBITECH contributes to the project’s dissemination and exploitation and business planning activities.
