The Maggioli Group has a rich history spanning over a century and four generations, evolving alongside Public Administration and the professional services connected to it. Its mission is to stimulate and accompany innovation in both public and private entities through products and services that drive technological and process evolution, simplifying daily work for citizens, professionals, and companies. With a strong focus on quality, customer satisfaction, and corporate social responsibility, Maggioli leverages talented human resources and a collaborative team spirit to deliver excellence across its five business units: Publishing and Conventions, Information Technology, Document Management, Managing Revenue and Service, and Training and Consultancy.
The vision of SEARCH is to unlock the full potential of biomedical data for personalised medicine by overcoming institutional silos and enabling secure, large-scale AI analysis. Rather than relying on centralised data sharing, SEARCH introduces an innovative combination of synthetic data generation and federated learning, ensuring that sensitive information remains protected while still enabling advanced research and clinical applications. By providing trusted synthetic data proxies, scalable federated infrastructures, and FAIR-aligned discovery mechanisms, SEARCH will accelerate innovation in healthcare while safeguarding privacy and data ownership.
Within this framework, Maggioli (MAG) plays a pivotal role as both a technical enabler and a driver of exploitation and impact. Maggioli leads the development of the federated platform architecture, defining the technical specifications and secure set-up of federated nodes across clinical sites and repositories. This work ensures that diverse data providers can seamlessly join the network, contributing to federated data discovery and distributed machine learning without compromising sovereignty over their datasets.
Maggioli’s expertise ensures that the federated infrastructure is modular, scalable, and secure, integrating strong authentication, encryption, and privacy-preserving mechanisms. Where local compute resources are limited, Maggioli will enable the use of confidential computing environments such as data clean rooms to guarantee compliance and trust. Importantly, the architecture will be designed to interoperate with established European initiatives such as Federated EGA, GDI, Euro-BioImaging, and BigPicture, while aligning with international standards like FAIR and GA4GH to maximise reuse and connectivity.
Beyond its technical leadership, Maggioli also contributes to industry collaboration and exploitation activities, ensuring that SEARCH solutions achieve broad adoption and sustainability beyond the project’s lifetime. By bridging the gap between research, healthcare, and industry, Maggioli helps translate project innovations into practical, long-term benefits for personalised medicine and AI-driven healthcare. Additionally, Maggioli supports the administrative coordination of the project, facilitating efficient collaboration among partners.
Through this combined role, Maggioli ensures that SEARCH delivers on its vision: a federated, secure, and future-proof infrastructure that empowers Europe to harness health data responsibly, fostering trust, innovation, and impact in the biomedical domain.
